A lift shaft or a service riser cannot be worked from the inside, so the wall is built entirely from the landing side: shaftliner panel held between C-H studs, then fire-rated board over the face.
It is the build-up to use wherever access is restricted, and it is installed to the smoke and fire integrity the specification calls for.
